Model Context Protocol (MCP) Evaluation

MCP Evaluation is a temporary activity of the CAMARA TSC, start in April 2025 (see 2025-04-17 TSC Minutes).

Expected Outcome (of the activity)

• Example(s) how the interworking between AI - MCP - CAMARA APIs could look like

• Strategic messaging of CAMARA regarding Model Context Protocol (MCP)

  • Question: Specifically for MCP or also other mechanisms for AI interacting with CAMARA APIs?

• Identification of additions and changes to the technical work of CAMARA to support the message

• Identification of any points where MCP should be evolved (if not yet on the roadmap anyway) to fit together with CAMARA’s security and privacy

• Identification of new partnerships in the eco-system of CAMARA and Open Gateway which have to be build

Timeframe:

• Mid April to mid May 2025 (initially) - at least for a first round of results and answers
