Independent API releases

Independent API releases

APIs can be developed and releases in fast pace independently of the meta-release schedule.

Independent API releases can be either still under development (release not planned yet) or planned to be released.

Some information on this page is part of the legacy release management process. This will be removed once all APIs are under automated release tracking.

Below, you can find the API version release status based on the new automated release tracking progress.

Independent API releases shall target using Spring26 Commonalities and ICM baseline (M4 was passed)

New APIs

Every new (initial) API must start with an independent release track.

  • Independent API releases are reviewed by Release Management just like any meta-release API.

  • First an alpha release shall be produced. The focus for alpha release reviews is on syntax issues as (raised by validation), Commonalities and ICM guideline application, etc.

  • Then, for a release candidate, semantics review comments should be addressed, such as RESTful design, security aspect, etc.

  • This is to avoid meta-releases being blocked by too long reviews, and allowing teams to get familiar with the CAMARA guidelines.

For information, the following is the list of all available Independent Sandbox repositories. Once all repositories are under the new automated release process, this table will be removed.
