Release Management releases

Release Management r1.1 and r1.2 have been created. This has been documented on the release management homepage here: Release Management Working Group - CAMARA Project (scroll to end)

Release r2.1 in preparation:

Naming convention for Maintenance branches and branch protection rule for them #93
- will be addressed in context of #111 (see below)
Align also Working Group release numbering with the rx.n numbering schema starting in Spring25 cycle #94
- Meta-release Process need to be updated (versioning and release numbers)
- A version file to be added to the Commonalities and ICM repositories (within next public release)
Clarification of CHANGELOG requirements for first release candidate with previous alpha release #63
- PR on template and example @Tanja de Groot
- Replace example by a link within the template (which can be removed)
Update comments column in API-readiness-checklist.md #110
- PR in preparation by @Tanja de Groot
- Reference information for Commonalities and ICM will be the link to the used release
Update API_Release_Guidelines.md with feedback on process #111

M1:

Commonalities “priority” issues are available for review and others due Oct 31st.

- most others will come next week
- two M1 announcements planned: first about the open PRs in review (after TSC on Nov 7th), second when alpha releases are done

Fall24 meta-release

M6: preparation of R2.1 with feedback ongoing - target date Oct 31st.
